  • Trick to keep my puffer active

Well seeing how my fahaka is always hungry, I noticed if I do this it keeps him swimming and looking for more. I will wait till he is sleeping and its dark, then drop 8-10 ramshorn snails in random spots in the tank. Behind rocks in the fake plants anywhere they will be hidden until they move out from cover. I put a few in plain sight so he will "start the hunt". Since I started doing this I've noticed he is always hunting for more snails. Just something I've observed that works for me to keep him from being a "sand potato".

That's cool! That hunt mode is more natural behavior.
Our puffers love snails but never get them.
