  • fin rot in livebearer tank

what is the best cure for fin rot in a live bearer tank. i don't have a quarantine tank i can use, so the cure can't hurt the other fish. any suggestions???

Is it white& puffy fin rot, which would be fungal, or are the fins still clear and just rotting, which would be bacterial. Easiest would be quick cure, which treats both. It's usually 1 drop/gallon, but with tetras and other sensitive fish, you do a 1/2 dose. If you have guppies or endlers, 1/2 dose it is. Mollies/swordtails and such get a full dose. If you want to be professional, get the API meds. Either Erythromycin or fungus cure. They are more "precise" meds and may not work if you aren't exactly sure what it is. In my experience, a 1/2 dose of quick cure and a 1/2 dose of bi-furan takes care of everything.
