No. Since you can dial the speed it doesn't matter

What kind of corals you trying to keep?

I'm not sure on the corals yet. I am new to SW and learning as I go.

FYI, when stilling up a reef tank, pick the corals first and plan around them.

One mp40 should be OK. That or two mp10s.

For the return I was thinking of using the eheim 1260 for the return. I thought of selling or trading the MP40 for two MP10s. Still don't know yet about what corals.

I'd keep the 40, that way when you decide to upgrad to a 180 or 200 in a few months you'll already have one of the components :) Welcome to the addiction!
