  • Moderators deleting post with no notification

    Hi Traci,

I know I'm not the model citizen on here but I would like to ask why a moderator would delete a thread without notifying the poster of their infringement. I would agree with some of my post that they might be breaking a rule somewhere in the list but others don't or are in forums that would allow no sensorship when it comes to the content of the post.

I have noticed that even some of the moderators are not even aware of this happening so it leads me to believe there is only one mod doing so without any courtesy. If I have broken rules that would have harmed this forum in any way I would like to be notified and would even accept the punishment of broken rules.

If there is any further disagreement to my request and I am in fact wrong for expecting this site to function in a more friendly way that makes this place different from your normal communist sites then I would even accept a ban for any wrong doings I have brought upon this site but would like to ask that the moderator which has, what seems to have taken this whole ordeal personal to be removed and relieved of his/her duties.

There has been quite a few members that would agree that in the presence of said mod that the site is no longer what it use to be or could be. I have no personal problems with the moderator as I have never met, recall meeting or know who that person is.

I feel that if this site is to become nazi ran like all the others then it would be suiting that the moderators act like them and have notification of any infractions/warnings/reported of any rule breaking.

A note left in place of the post that was removed or a note stating the reason why said post was removed would be what other sites would have done as well.

    Thank you
    Quoc.

I know some of the rules and it's shame on me being such an old member of the site that I don't know them all but when it comes to pictures or picture content I feel that I am pretty good about it.

    I posted this picture

    earlier today in this thread
    http://www.houstonfishbox.com/vforum...rything-except

in reply to a post previous to mine that was also removed stating that we are being watched to insinuate that our behavior needed to be respectful. After that another member just said Hi to the moderator that was looking at the thread at the time of posting.

My picture had the caption "who's watching us"? and nothing more nor did my picture contain any offensive/pornography/sexual/illegal content.

I would have loved to hear a reason why that was deleted if there was a valid reason unless it was just out of sheer personal spite. If that is the case then I would really like to see the duties relieved for that person since that would be a personal attack upon me and abuse of power.

      Qouc,

I believe this topic has been discussed by both admin and mods before. You were a mod in the pass so you know how the process works. It is my view that all editting should be followed by a PM citing the reason(s) for change. The reason(s) should also be follow by a citation to the rules found on this site.

No need for talks of being banned. I'm sure Traci will response after careful consideration when she is free.

I would have thought that any post not in accordance to rules should be edited and rule broken left in it's place. I don't remember it all but I believe that was how I did it in the past.

I am no longer a mod and understand that it's a free job or chore taken on by the staff that's in place but honestly if it's that much trouble then why would one take on that responsibility. If it's too much to handle then ask to be removed.

            Thank you Traci.

This is not only happening with me but with several other members but no one has brought it to anyone's attention in fear of retaliation.

that is true and honestly I don't really care most of the time cause I know I was at fault or knew where I was wrong. There's others that have left the site or don't participate in discussion due to this concern.

Sorry for putting it out on the streets and on blast.

One of my posts that got deleted...I even invited the Mod to join the thread. I don't see where we warranted any deletions and now taking these actions as personally as harassment.

                        Lol, don't PM me...I'm not helping. :)

Jokes aside, as mods and admin we should all PM members when changes are made to their threads. I understand how a member can react negatively to changes made b/c the reasoning is not always clear.

Hell, there has been changes to my threads and I don't get notices of those changes. Then again, I'm in the same boat as EK bout being a model citizen so I can't say much.
