  • Celebes halfbeaks - Nomorhamphus sp.?

Seeing as though I've scoured all over this forum and haven't read more than a mention of these awesome livebearers I'll start a thread for pictures/vids and whatever discussion.

Some Links I've been reading through which have been somewhat helpful but at the same time very vague

          http://homepage.mac.com/nmonks/Proje...halfbeaks.html

This thread shows the male/female appendages/anal fin

Anyone else keeping these? I'm sure a tank full was brought in and I'm not the only fool to bring them home...

Haven't noticed any missing shrimp and have even witness these eating side by side with some of my smaller CRS/RCS but I have noticed a decrease in numbers with my smaller/new boraras...

i should of had around 60-70 boraras after adding the ones from my second group buy, but after seeing one stuck to the filter sponge i decided to do a count when i cleaned my tank and only found 55 plus a fresh floater that look like he ben nipped all around so i guess i'll need to move my pea puffers to their own tank so they don't get cranky with all the borraras.

i haven't found any remains in my tank, only way I know is that the newer ones have the spots instead of the line through the body but they could have matured and grew the line in. Mine might be just growing at a faster rate and joining the bigger group.

I got them from Fish Gallery, I bought what was left though. If you want a pr I can sell you back a pr if I can catch them.I bought multiple to ensure a pair.
