I got my Blue Green Chromis yesterday and put in in the aquarium. Ever since he has been hiding behind my filter. Please reply.

I don't know what research you find but blue green chromis do hide a lot when they are new.
Mine still spend half of their time hiding and I have had them for almost 2 yrs.
Usually the non-dominant ones hide more and they do kill each other. I started with 6 and now 2.

My chromis are very active. They only hide at night. I have 26 in a 180 - started with 27 over a year ago.

He is the only one fish in the tank and he hides all day long.

How big is the tank? A little more activity in the tank will help calm its nerves. Try adding something peaceful.

Its only a 10g just to start with. Should I buy another chromis??

He comes out when I feed him, but when I just walk in the room he hides.

Chromis are schooling fish they will feel more comfortable in groups

A 10g is not ideal sizewise but getting another chromis is probably better than leaving the other one by himself.

he is now swimming around a lot. He was just getting used to the aquarium.
