  • ATI vs. TEK

I am setting up a 40B and cant decide on which light fixture I want to purchase. So, I have turned to yall for help.

This are the 2 fixtures I am looking at:
    36" 4 bulb ATI
    36" 6 bulb TEK.

I plan on having a mixed reef with SPS, LPS, Zoas, Clam etc. The lights need to be able to handle anything I want. Also, in the next couple year(when I buy a new house) I plan on upgrading to 72-75 gallon tank and do not want to have to buy a new fixture. If there is any other info that might help let me know.

    Thanks

    Which ATI?

I've owned a SUnpower and PowerModules and prefer the look of the powermodules. I not a salt guy so I cant offer opinion on which is best for your reef.

I vote for the TEK. I have a 48" 6 bulb fixture on my 75
My SPSs are growing like crazy and the clams are happy as.... well... clams!

if you plan on upgrading within the next year, i would say get a cheap fixture for the 40 and spend the money for a 48" tek.

Define a cheap fixture. I have been looking and the 36" TEK is around 280$ and is one of the cheapest fixtures(That I feel is worth anything) that I have found. Know any other brands that might be cheaper I can look into?

for what youll get as far as quality and output imo an ati powermodule is the way to go hands down.

Yea it was probably both. I always like to get as much input as I can when it comes to tanks.
