  • New Pico

Just bought a 3G picotope; this will be my first venture into saltwater. My wife used to keep a 75G reef tank before we met, so she has a fair amount of knowledge, but I'm a newbie. I will certainly go do my homework now, and in fact just pulled up a new set of links from myjohnson that should tell me everything I need to know.

With that being said, does anyone have any recommendations specific to a picotope this size? One of the reasons I bought it was the affordable price, so I'm not wanting to do a bunch of expensive mods on it, short of replacing the light for a reasonable cost.

Thanks in advance for any advice and information!

I would say mh k2 viper jbj 70watt with phoenix 14k bulb.
    Macrorocks.com live Rock.

And for your own convenience an ato (auto top off).

For filtration I would do a couple hob red sea nano filters.

For corals I would say zoas and mushrooms would be good and forgiving.
For live stock I would just do a really awesome clean up crew.
For flow I would say maxi jet 400 with a DIY spraybar made from an eheim 2213.
    Hope this helps.
