  • RO/DI or Just RO

I am thinking of getting a RO filter and setting it up in my garage to make my own water. (getting tired of running to fish store!).

I see some people talk about reverse osmosis and also deionization (RO/DI) wherease others just talk about RO.

Is an RO filter sufficient or is the DI part also a necessity?

Also, if you have any recommendations on countertop type filter to purchase I would appreciate it.

    Thank you

RO units are easily installed below a sink. I run mine in my bathroom, and it took me a whole of 15 minutes to put it together and install it.

If you have only freshwater tanks, then RO is enough. If you have saltwater, you want a DI unit as well.
