  • Algae on glass - scraping required?

Hello - another newbie question -- I have a "see through" tank built into a wall. The aquarium is viewable from "front" and "back" but the two "sides" of the tank are not accessible/viewable. I have been cleaning the front/back glass of the aquarium but letting the sides grow algae. I like what it looks like but wanted to ask if letting the algae continue to grow on the glass will cause any problems later on. thank you

If it does not bother you let it go. A netrite snail or 10 will take care of it. Brushey noses plecos too.

Eventually you're gonna get coraline growth on the sides that you don't clean, which is going to require a single edged razor to remove in the future.
If you don't mind that, then leave it, othewise, clean it.

yes it is saltwater. I was thinking that the coraline algae would look better than just plain glass that has a mirrored effect since it is at 90 degrees to the viewing front / back. thanks for the input.

Mexican turbo snails can take care of the algae for you.
