  • Singapore 2nd International Discus Competition (Drool Warning!)

Hello from Singapore! I've lived in the US for so long that it is just weird that it's 93 degrees outside in December... sweltering!

Anyway, this morning I was attending the Discus Competition held here at a local shopping mall (of all places). Thankfully they don't accept US checks otherwise my luggage would have been noticeably heavier on the way back to houston.
Snapped some pics to share with ya'll. Here are the first place finishers for each of the listed categories. Enjoy!

    Main Banner:

1st Prize Albino Solid, 3G Fish Aquarium & Allan Lee

1st Prize Albino Striped, Spotted or Patterned, Peter Low

1st Prize Solid Red/Brown, Ricky Lim
I didn't mess with this pic... the darn thing is just sooooooo RED!

At this size, i doubt they are hormoned.
But i bet they are probably color fed. Especially all the reds.

Nacra --- you're my kind of people --------are you thinking about bringing/getting some of those fish over here ?? At the risk of being forward, if "Project Garage" works, I would love to have a chance at buying and raising some of those --------- they are unbelievable.

Yes... i'd like some too... lol...

At the moment i have no intention of importing. I'm going to concentrate on breeding as a hobby for now.
I'm currently work full time in engineering while studying for an engineering masters 2 hours away from houston.
Whatever little money from the hobby helps me pay for school and gas to get to class.

HEy Nacra...you think you could help me with my breeding techniques? I've got a pair that recently laid eggs...I've had them for a week and didn't know that they were male and female. I added some cooler water to the tank and man, they just went at it laying eggs. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks!
