Anyone have any experiences with these? Descriptions of habitats in which they were found, by what method they were collected, etc.? They sound like an ideal local counterpart to the swamp darter. If anyone has any specific locations they'd be willing to share, please shoot me a PM. I'd be happy to share locations for other natives like killies, madtoms & sunfish to responsible enthusiasts.

I found a few quite some time ago in Peach Creek, it was just inside the Roman Forest subdivision along the main road. They are quick and will dart under the sand, just drag your net through the area they disappeared. I never was able to maintain them in the long term, but I was only 10 or 11 then.

Sand bottomed creek, eh? Not something I've seen around here yet. Thanks mnemenoi, I've been meaning to go up that way for some time.
