  • Temperature trouble

Hey guys Im having trouble keeping the temperature steady. During the day tank reads 80.6 degrees and night time 78.4. I have a CBreeze fan clamped on to my biocube and a heater aswell. Heater is set to 79. Without the heater, water could get under 73 degrees. Then without the fan, water could reach over 83. This is why i have both hooked up but temperature still does not stay in one spot but it averages at 79 degrees.

Is this normal? Am I doing everything right?

Btw... no corals yet. I do have a few inverts, 1 clown fish and a cardinal.

You're fine. A little bit of a swing isn't that bad. You're a bit on the high side. If it was me i'd try to stay 78-79. My old ada used to go 81-77, and my corals did fine.

        +1.

I get some swing too. If your water is slowly changing two degrees over the whole day you have nothing to worry about.
I ate my fish that died.

+2 My tank ranges from 79.4 to 80.5. Its ok remember in the wild temperatures dont stay one temp all day it rises during the day and drops at night. Just make sure its not like 3 degrees +
