This is my first tank and I know I probably should have started with a larger tank but I wanted to do the dueling mini-m. Just wanted something more original. Stand is sapphire aquatics acrylics stand.

Saltwater tank specs
ADA 5.5 mini m tank
live sand, live rock
Vortech MP10
Eheim 2228 with live rock rubble
lighting is 70w MH 14000k

I need a custom sump and overflow!!!!!

Thinking of using a 12"x12"x12" sump size but maybe too small to fit a protein skimmer?

Other option would be a 14.17in X 9.45in X11.8 in size sump

Also worries about heat issues.

there are acouple good nano skimmers.

Aqua C urchin, and tunze 9002 that you can put into the sump. You're going to need baffles in your sump to help reduce micro bubbles from the skimmer though.
