Hardware Upgrade

Hey guys. You are all probably pretty sick of hearing from me about this stuff, but I'd rather you know what's going on instead of hitting a glitch and wondering what's going on.

I went ahead and requested a hardware upgrade from our host. Apparently, we are outgrowing our current configuration. So sometime over the next 12 - 24 hours, if you come to HFB and get an error or a page about the website not existing or anything equally as scary, don't worry, just try again after a few minutes.

I'll let you know if anything changes.

Sorry for that everyone. I started moving over some files and then all of a sudden, I was on a fast track and forced to go through the entire process. But we are now on an awesome server...I won't have to restart services every 2 days anymore. WhooHoo!

Let me know if anyone has any problems or sees anything quirky.

Anything to make less work for you is okay with us. If this new upgrade is going to allow you more time to do other things, GREAT!! Maybe you can get a fun date in with hubby in the next year or so.

So what did we go from and came to ? Interested in knowing what kind of hardware we were on and what we are on now..

800 GB Bandwidth

1 Gb RAM
100 GB RAID
1400 GB Bandwidth

No kidding! I'm trying to optimize everything so it's running the best it can...hopefully we'll be able to coast a while. I hope, I hope, I hope.

I know, I know...I was sweatin' it too. I stayed up refreshing the dumb page until 3am to make sure DNS propagation was working, AND bothered the hosting company TWICE to have them double check my network configuration just to make sure.

They were like, "Well...DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours." <-- for the record, it has NEVER taken 48 hours. I don't know who made that number up.
And I was like, "Yeah, I know. I just want to have another set of eyes check my configuration before I go to bed."

I could imagine them going "Dang...someone tell this girl to stop worrying about it...sheesh..."

I was gonna say something about that! I was thinking, "Hmm...Traci posted at 3am...OMG! Was she up that late because of the upgrade??!?" But I decided against it, because, well, I don't know.

I just remember that time Ken took HFB down for a weekend to do some work and IT WAS THE LONGEST WEEKEND OF MY LIFE! I don't want to do that to you guys.
