Where did you buy the rocks in the 14g from? You need better ones.

For such a small tank I wouldnt bother with base rocks. Buy about 20lbs of rocks for $2/lb and you're set =)

Can you give us a little info on the tanks? Like how long have they been up and what corals/fish are in there.

                        SURE,

Both have been running for 2 months. I feed all fish and the gbta frozen krill. I feed all corals phyto-feast(5 drops dailys in the nanocube)and(2 drops daily in the bio cube). liquid calcium and iodine 3 drops daily, potassium iodine(1%solution) 3 drops weekly in both tanks.

The 14bio cube has 2wc tomato clowns. 1 host a gbta and the other host an athelia(waving hand).
There's 4 margarita snails and 1 red leg crab. The filtration is stock w/ a bio protein skimmer.
                        It has a nano-koralia and a 50watt heater. The lights are 24watt 50/50 10K

The 12nano cube has 1 pseudochromis porphyreus (magenta dottyback). 6 different kinds of zoas,
3x 2head candy canes, wall hammer, birds nest, small brain, 2x kenya tree, ric shrooms, 3x red shrooms,
gsp 3 margarita snails and 2 red leg crabs. The filtration is stock w/ a bio protein skimmer and 50watt heater.
                        The lights are 24watt 50/50 10K, 24watt actinic 10K and 2 blue l.e.d.'s.

Sorry for not posting info w/ the pics
