  • A Trip To Daves' Rare Fish

Long drive but well worth the trip.
    Good to Excellent inventory.
    Nice Help - Matt
Nice location - right off I35
Some tanks had burned out bulbs on them and it was hard to tell what was in the tanks, but not something to get all worked up over.
Dave was nice enough to come in and say hello even after having his first born not long ago.

Lots of nice fish to see, excellent variety, lots of tanks, very nice people.

Little lean on dry goods, but we got tons of that stuff locally.

Overall....a really nice fish store with a really nice owner and good help.

Fishlady and I came home with more new kids of course, and we had a nice drive up and back, before leaving Fishlady treated me to dinner at a very nice mexican resturant in downtown San Antonio right in the farmers market area....a very nice trip all around.

Thanks to Dave, Matt and Fishlady.

    CF

Oh the river walk was decked out so nice with even more lights than usual of course due to the season, it was goregous out there....

Lots of folks out there last night....reminded me of New York with all that pedestrian traffic....

casa rio is pretty good for the ambiance of the city and the river walk, but the food can't hold a candle to the mi tierra's dinning....but like steve said..it was really decked out for the holidays and looked really pretty.....so try them next time your there Randall....and tell me what you think...it is just right up the street on produce row from the river walk....and you can take your sweety to the mercado after dinner to walk it off....the mercado is really cool...lot's of stuff to look at....

Do you mean a petrochromis trewavasae ? (female ??)

If you where able to get one I might have to take a trip there and get myself a pair of females. I really like my male, but he needs a girlfriend or two to keep him company :)

I might make a trip there before I start my next semester at school. I'll finally have the time to go, and it's not that long of a trip.

Did he have a lot of cichlids?

Yeah, his stock list is very impressive. I just didn't know if he actually had those fish available. If so, then it would definitely be worth my while to go there.

I am trying to go soon. My friend in SA is starting a fish tank up after seeing all of mine and I told him to go see Dave and we can go together so I can show him what to get. I told him to go to Daves since I dont know or trust anyone else in SA. I will try to take pics Traci if I dont forget.

When you go, let me know. It might be fun if we could go at the same time.

I know for sure I will not be going until after Dec 17, the date of my last final.
