It all depends on what I am looking for.
City Pets.. because they have a large selection of parts I need at times.
HAW for their excellent pricing on a small selection of hard and soft goods.
Txtropheustraders absolutely for Mike's awesome imports.. and good company when you need a night of drinking and shooting the *stuff*
Like you Fish Ranch II is a great place to go when you are looking for a wide variety.. They dont have much of what I am looking for these days.

Then again I have not been shopping months because of the "no income" problem I have right now.

    What fish do Jesper have

I actually dont spend hardly any money at LFS these days...going all trophs basically means most stores dont carry things to your liking...but I would say Fish Gallery gets most of my business when I do spend money...they carry Dainichi now and I dont have to drive all the way to xtreme or fish land. Xtreme is probably my favorite store to just walk around in.

I have not been in Aqua Zoo since they moved, but they are one of my favs.

For the entire Houston area, I have never walked into City Pets and not been able to find what I need, service is marginal unless you know them.

For my tastes in fish, no LFS beats Ultimate Fish.

Best overall store...Extreme Fish & Pets IMO

I think they all are at one point or another.... none cater to all the needs/wants but as a whole it satisfies it quite well.

              1) Fish Gallery for overall quality of fish, food and service
              2) HAW for quality fish and price
              3) City Pet's for supplies.

                freshwater - xtreme
                saltwater - T & T

these two have the best livestock IMO, i don't normally buy dry goods at the LFS too pricey and don't generally carry what i want.

                        1. Xtreme Fish because they have a good variety of Tanganyikan fish (although i wish they had more frontosa variants) Trung is an incredibly nice guy, even when i cant understand him ) and they have a very large selection of foods and parts.

                        2. HAW mainly because they are the cheapest place in town for buying bloodworms. I've only Dustin once very briefly but he seemed really cool and helpful. As soon as i get another discus tank, i'll be seeing them more often.

                        3. Fish R Us. I never get a chance to go out there anymore but every times i've gone its been a good trip. Prices are a little higher than i'd like but they have fish that ive never seen anywhere else.

1 Fish Ranch II...largest selection of central american cichlids

2 Xtreme...the other place with decent central americans and good prices!!

3 HAW...good place for community fish, good prices too!!

4 Fish gallery...best place for plants in my opinion....also the occasional on sale central or south american cichlids...and just the look of the place!!
                          HALA MADRID!!!!

Jungle Jim's @ Mall of the Mainland
                            It's "LOCAL" 10 min drive
                            Patrick knows fish
They order anything not in stock that I want to try
They carry live blackworms to feed my Bettas
they take my excess stock in trade for store credit (more blackworms)
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

                              Geoff's Tropheus/Petro Extreme.

Nice tanks. Good stock. Cheap prices. And most importantly, HE LETS ME DRINK IN THE STORE!
I ate my fish that died.
