Soooo joining a forum is the first step in admitting I have a problem eh? I tried for as long as I could to ninja surf HFB. I could'nt take it any longer. Tired of not being able to see all the awesome pics and threads. Somehow my wife (imjustme) got me into this damn hobby by starting off with a 10 gallon and some 10 cent goldfish. I now have to put on scuba gear to get through the house. My wife and I traded some fish to a LFS and we ended up with a Tropeus Chimba. My research of Tropheus lead me to this forum and had no clue she already joined. I bought a used 125 gallon on craigslist from an HFB member (ya small world) that housed Tropheus in it. I am working on slowly but surely a Tropeus colony. So far I have a 125g with a 110ac, fx5, Eheim 2229, and 2 Koralia 4 ph's full of Demasoni. Enough ranting, I just put my cigarette out in the wrong beer. Sooner or later I will be on the hunt for a Tropheus colony and looking for adivice on keeping a colony. Do yo think I could replace my wifes fish with Tropheus and she would'nt notice?

well welcome to the addiction...it's okay to admit it on this forum....where alot of us suffer from this syndrome.....if your in the market for a nice starter colony there is one for sale on here now....these were tank raised by myself and they are established breeders....all of the adults are what they call F1 which means they are the children of (WC) wild caught parents....check them out...as i said i raised them from tiny fry and now as a proud fishmommy they are grown and having kids of their own....
HoustonFishBox is an online community dedicated to bringing together people and their fish in Houston, Southeast Texas, and beyond.

Welcome! Like everyone has said, you have definitely come to the right place. I think you're gonna fit in well here. :) With your 1 paragraph, I can already tell you have a lot in common with most other 'Boxers. Me and guygeek also have to wear scuba gear to get through the house.
As for whether you can replace your wife's fish with trophs without her noticing...probably not...but put her in charge of feeding them for a week and it's likely she'll end up wanting to fill all the rest of the tanks with Troph colonies. I started with a couple of Duboisi...now we have 9 colonies. Our Fishhouse

As much as I'd like to welcome you to the box, sadly, I can't. I regret to inform you that you can't stay. We don't put up with wasting beer like that...there's a 12 step program I need to refer you to...just gotta find it...somewhere around here...
MarkWhat are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

Thank you all for the welcome. I have never joined a forum before so this is going to be another learning curve. I am a Auto Tech a.k.a grease monkey and I do not get along with computers well. If i cant adjust the torque on the flux capasitor, add blinker fluid, or fix it with a sledge hammer and duct tape then im lost. I feel I know half of you crazy people already. OMG i have to get my spull chek fixd.
