Have you tried different foods? I had one for years and I never had a problem with him. How is his water quality?

Try night crawlers. You can get them in the sporting section at Walmart.

Just a word of warning to anyone who owns a FBN. They are fatally toxic to dogs and cats if consumed, and there is no antidote. These salamanders contain the same toxins as puffers, so if you have furry friends in the house, keep a tight lid on these guys to avoid any tragedies.

These guys are also escape artists, so make sure the lid is extra tight.
