HFB now on Twitter!

Do you tweet? Apparently it's the new big thing to do. It was requested that we join this new rage, so from now on, all new threads (not posts) will be pushed to our Twitter site.

So now if for some reason you cannot get to HFB, but you can access Twitter, you can at least know what's going on around here without you. )

I can say that I have never frequented twitter, facebook, or myspace and I have no idea whats so great about them. So how is twitter for nerds and facebook isnt?

I don't know but it is the latest crazy. Facebook is so last year and myspace is two years ago. It seems like the biggest fad going right now. I can't turn on TV without hearing about sh%* on twitter.

Unlike myspace and facebook it is more scaled down which I think makes it ideal for checking on a internet enabled cellphone.

You are limited to 140 characters, much like a cellphone text message which is limited to 160 characters.

It has been making alot of headlines this week as being a primary source for people outside of Iran finding out what is really going on there. For the most part it is used for useless applications like following Ashton Kutcher, Shaq, or Kim Kardassian.

Can someone who barely is on facebook tell me what Twitter is ?

When you go to your Facebook page and you read all those little one liners each of your friends posted about them eating dinner, watching tv, taking a poop, etc - that's the concept of twitter. Just the one-liner updates.

Companies use it to announce new deals, exclusives online coupons, etc. Forums use it like RSS.

Got it going to my cell phone. I like that I can choose to turn off receiving messages and back on whenever I want. It would be nice if I didn't have the internet blocked on my phone... :(
