  • Fish ID?

These aren't are saltwater fish not brackish. I got them in a tide pool in Galveston and need to know what they are. Anyone know?

Fish are people too, they just have gills.

Either wild mollies or gambusia. They both can live in full seawater.

I don't think they are either because they don't have any livebearing fish likeness. Some of them have yellow anal fins and others have clear. I saw others there that were about 4" long.

Can you get a clearer pic? Could also be one of the native killies. I hope they are not silversides, because they do not fare well in captivity.

Sorry, it still looks like a gambusia to me. Gulf Coast Killifish get large, but they look like this:

It does have a mouth that points up. Thanks!

Is there any way you can get a larger, clearer pic? I can't see them well enough... :(

Sorry, the camera I'm using isn't the best. I put them into fresh water and they are doing fine.

They don't look like mosquito fish at all. The two larger ones have vertical stripes on their bodies.

my guess goes with a type of native killifish, at least tull they get larger and are eassier to identify.

I think they are killies as well.

I just noticed that three of them have the "stick like" anal fin like male livebearers.
