  • What is the law for catching native fish?

Ok, so I've been fishing since I was born, am very knowlegeable about legal sizes/limits when it comes to fishing, but no nothing of the laws on harvesting native fish for aquarium use. Are game fish (bass, catfish, ect.) allowed? Perch? I'm just curious if anything you can catch on a hook can legally be transfered to an aquarium. In highschool, we raised Black Bass in my aquaculture class, and even though they grew extremely slow, they were a very fun fish. If anybody could clear this up with alittle info, it would be much appreciated.

Any non-game fish are fine to take home as long as you have a fishing license. It is illegal to take home game fish without a specific permit. Check out the TPWD web site for more specifics, but those are the rules in a nutshell.

      da law

'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
