  • When will the breeding end?

Actually, I'm fine with the pace these fish are breeding. Just a little taken aback.

I have a 75g tank with daffodil ciclids. I lost all my fry during Ike. I nearly gave up. I was devastated. Just before the New Year. My Alpha pair produced fry. Happy Dance. I've been a nervous fish keeper about cleaning the tanks. I haven't wanted to do to much. Now It looks like that Alpha pair has another group on the way. I'm completely floored. And Happy. If they weren't doing well they wouldn't be getting freak. Their offspring wouldn't be doing so well curious how often they likely mate. Thank you.

These guys will mate every time you turn the lights off. (not literally but it sure seems like it) I had to sell mine so i could have room in my tank for other fish. I think its something like every 28 days or something like that. Dont quote me on that. Anyway, congrats on all the babies. (oh, if you dont want babies, buy a calvus...they'll take care of all your babies)

Do some water changes and clean out the tank well with your python. I promise you as long as you are not trying to suck up the eggs they will make sure that the dirt goes to one side of their area and you can just collect the majority there. They will shoe the youngens away from your tube that is disturbing them.

and yes over time you will learn your daffodils will spawn forever on a regular bases and you will have 100's of young again

I also have a breeding group of daffodils that I purchased from Algarciajr. Brichardi's are my all time favorite. Their body shape and fin lines are pretty cool.

Believe it or not fish are in tune with the lunar cycle. Do a water change a few days before a full moon and egg laying is about guaranteed.
