    PetCo has Giant Bettas

    I went to Petco (League City - 646 & 45) today to buy a carrier to take my kittens to the vet for their shots.
    And I found some dead pleco in one of their tanks..............    uke:
    I also saw some "Half Moon" bettas - young/small & not really a full 180 deg, but truly a super delta+
    And a few Giant Plakats (short fin bettas) from King Betta.  The same guy in Thailand that I ordered my pair from last year.
    Well, I had to rescue this one pitiful decrepit red giant.  
    $14.99 + tax is a whole lot cheaper that what I paid for my last ones ($100) and even cheaper than the shipping ($45).

    I wonder how he will do in my Betta MAC tank ?

    I wonder how he is going to look when you get to him and start feeding him well, knowing he comes from prolly good genes, what would happen if you breed him and see what his off spring will give you :)

    Post a picture when you get a chance :)  One of these days again when I am in Texas City I have got to stop by and look in on your bunk houses again :)  Now that you have posted you got a nice little system set up again!

      i resuced a betta last year from a lfs that i am not going to name, they had 20+ betta in the itty bitty cup, and =ALL= were dead but one, most of them were even rotten away, anyways, i put him in my 10g, few days later i got 6 dwarf crays from pedro and place into that tank, the betta ate all but 2...  sigh...  i removed him few days ago and place him with my turtle, i might need to find him a new home...

        Bettas are carnivores, they eat meat -  like live crickets, black worms, white worms, brine shrimps, mosquito’s larvae, spiders, grasshoppers and other insects including small fish & dwarf crays.     .

            man all we got around here is ct and vt's. i check about once a week hoping to come across a killer deal like that. lucky bass fish

              Well, He's eather a young giant or an old half giant and he's starting to color up now.
              If he's a young Giant, I may be able to breed him to one of my females and produce some half giants......
              He's not a solid red.  More like a red marble with some black and some white.
              What is called "FANCY" on the pacific rim.

              A little like this normal sized plakat I bought 2 years ago, but bigger and beatup.

                    He is one happy camper now.  Put him in a big warm tub w/ some meds.
                    Fed him a high proteen dinner and placed him between two interested females.
                    You wouldn't believe how much better he looks now..... struting his stuff.

                      -125 gallons: 1 SR Arowana, 1 red tail giant gouramy, 1 Giraffe Catfish.

                      -55 gallons: 18 clown loaches, 28 corydoras, 2 golden algae eaters, 3 moonlight gouramies, 6 tiger barbs.

                          Thanks Phishphreek.  Hopefully they still have the bettas that i'm looking for.

                              yeah the PetCo in Baytown got these in as well. I actually bought one of the Half moons for my mom last night. $13.99
