Since I do once a week water changes (sometime twice a week), is it a good idea to continue the frequent water changes if one of my female is holding?

Since they can hold for a number of weeks, I don't see where you will have much choice. Just be sure to get the incoming water temp compatible, and if you can, use pretreated water, with little or no chemicals....Maybe you could reduce the amount of water to change, and change it more often????

I'm sure the other troph owners will have more to add....good luck...

Thor -- yes continue with the water changes.. your fish are used to it and as CF says just make sure that you dont add water that are more than a few degrees off what you are pulling out.

          I would hope so....

I have drained my tank with females holding and they would flap on their sides and still hold.
