  • Looking for Hi Fin Albino Swords and Wild Mollies

I am looking for Hi Fin Albino Red Swordtails (especially need a good quality male).  Also, I am looking for wild mollies that will live not only in my horse troughs in the winter but also in a half acre pond out in my pasture.  The pond is 10 ft deep so they must be extremely hardy.   If you know anyone that raises any of these fish, please let me know, thanks!

      Gene,

Welcome to the Houston Fish Box, it's about time!

I have mollies that will live year round in your pond, the wild green color will survive better becuase they will not be seen as easily by herons and other preditors.  I will bring you a bag full some time, that maybe mixed in color and young ones but natural selecton will revert them to the wild type after a few generations.
      later, ken

I catch fish out of the bayou (ditch) near my house, some of them are acctually black mollies! I put them in my turtle ponds outside and they eat the mosquito larvae. You could try doing that, it is free!

                Gene,

I have some wild caught mollies form Hunting Bayou that I have had in ponds for several years now. Let me know if you are still looking for these and I can bring you some to the HLA meeting at Fish Ranch.
