  • Shrimp and overcrowding

It occurs to me, that i have no idea how many shrimp can live in a 10 gallon before they are overcrowded.  Mine are doing ok, but have started breeding, and I would like to know at what point should I start considering other tanks to keep them in?

LOL that is what I thought, but I figured I would double check with folks who have been raising shrimp longer than me.

200 maybe?  Ive kept 100 in a 8 gallon and that seemed like nothing.

                      Re: Shrimp and overcrowding

I don't even try to count the shrimp anymore.  But if i were to guess... 200? maybe more in a 10 gal?
It's cool to seem them crawling all over one another to get food during feeding time.
