  • Holding Female ?

I have a Hongi that's been holding for about two weeks. I have her in a separate 10 gal tank right now. She has spit a couple fry already. My question is when she has spit all the fry, when should I remove her from the tank and isolate her to feed. Will she eat the fry if I leave her in there and feed all of them?

    Thanks,

    K

    Re: Holding Female ?

Hongi's from what I have seen will not eat their fry specially if you offer up food for her to eat.  She will see the food and chomp on it.  First feed her larger sized food and then afterwards come back 10 minutes later when she is full and add something like NLS grow, or crushed flake food etc for the small ones to find.  Let it hit the bottom and over the next few hours the little ones will find everything edible and consume it.
