  • Eheim 2229

Recently I was traded a new in the box Eheim 2229 with no instruction book.

I have two questions for those that have used the Eheim Wet-Dry Canisters 2229 or 2227.

There is a intake orifice that shows to be changed out if the tank water level is greater than 47" to a maximum of 57"

    Question 1:
Does this mean that if the tank is taller than 57" such as a 150 gallon at 60" that the canister will leak or somehting?

    Question 2:
Do I really have to change out the orifice, what is its purpose?

    Questions 3:
There are three different hoses that come with the filter.  (2) are the 16/22 hoses and (1) is the 9/12 hose.  I understand the intake and discharge are the 16/22 hoses, but what is the 9/12 hose suppose to go to ?

I never set one of these up before..so any help is appreciated...

    Thanks,

    Geoff

9/12 hose if I remember right is for the air intake. You might want to get with cichlidfan I sold my 2227 to him. I also gave him the instruction manual. He can look it up for you if your really nice to him.

Try this website. You have to scroll about 1/2 way down but it gives instructions about your canister:

Sorry, I don't know the answers to your questions. But, here's a bump, and a pdf of the manual...
