  • Mystery break!

Came home after work and getting feeder crabs from EK (thanks EK  :) ) to find a HUGE water-seeping crack on the face of my 10 gallon goodied tank and a wet carpet. I cannot understand how this happened! The crack originated on the lower right corner of the face of the tank and ended in the top center of the tank. None of the rocks were out of place. I found my male dusky goodied dead (not sure if this was related). MANY thanks for Philbert for helping me in this time of crisis by donating an unoccupied 10 gallon tank. Thanks for being a real friend Philbert! 8) I owe you one!

    Not enough information...too many variables.

Anyone one else home while you are gone?

    Pets?

Is there any evidence that there was a hit from outside or inside?

Truth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.

          Nope, I live alone.

3 cats. Hito and Pleco (the smaller cats) DO sometimes like to run around the apartment like they are crazy. When Tuko joins in, he does tend to knock things down as he is a large cat. However, if they had run into/jumped on the aquarium, I would have expected to find the lights, hood, etc out of place. That was not the case.

There was a chip in the lower right hand corner of the aquarium on the outside.

Well then some external force had to occur outside the tank.
