I just picked up two gorgeous bettas today. *

One is a gorgeous crowntail with a deep red body/fins and a hint of dark blue, and the other is a gorgeous metallic halfmoon betta. *He looks almost like mercury colored. *Will post pics later!

The crowntail was from Fondren Fish N Pet

The halfmoon was from Petco of all places - they started carrying them for 13.99.

Not sure if that is a good price for a halfmoon - but it was gorgeous. *I am having trouble getting a decent picture due to glare of lights in the room + curved glass.

I'm sure you know already, but the Betta Habari is having a show and auction next weekend. *I think it was just put on the calendar on the home page. *You'll find a lot really nice bettas and people there.

...And one more makes ten! *:D

You should take him to the BettaHabari show/auction. You can see some absolutely amazing bettas, and maybe that will up his appreciation for them!

Can't wait for the pics. *:)

hey kris, post the pics of ur betta and you must have a pretty big place for all those aquariums...
the place i am working at is thinking about remodeling, and they might get rid of couple of those http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40047675
but support more weight, the shelfs are much thicker, suppost to support 50 per box, so i am thinking about getting it from them and set up 8 2.5g tanks for betta(s?)

I tend to keep my bettas in the smaller tanks that people keep bettas in. *I want to get some bigger tanks - but not so much in the way of money and space for them. *Still, I make sure they are healthy and get frequent water changes... I am hoping to learn more about breeding them, especially that lovely halfmoon. *

Lucky you to get such a cool shelf to put your bettas in!

My wife likes Bettas and we were wanting to go, but alas, I'm working all weekend. * :( *

On a brighter note, I won't have to miss the GHAC Swap now that it is on the 7th. * :)

well, thats only if they are remodeling and not taking those shelf home, the new boss is from out of them, they are buying a home somewhere... *anyways, i might end up setting 4 tanks, after doing some math last night, 2.5g tank cost 12 bucks after tax, 8 of them will be close to 100 bucks, then theres filter and lights... but it *will be really cool if i can pull it off, i just have to keep dreaming about it...
