  • Noob here

Howdy y'all (lol) just want to introduce myself to this incredible community!!

I'm currently in the process of setting up some type of 55g african tank, getting all the pieces together and what not.
While I was doing some internet research I came across this wonderful forum, and boy am I glad I did.
I want to thank all the helpful people that post here and hope to become a contributing member.

    Thanks for reading.

          Howdy Aculeus!

What sort of africans are you leaning towards?

I'm also interested in your screenname. Is is "aculeus" as in the stinger of a bee?

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

You are correct armthehomeless, I used that name for my first WoW toon couple years ago.

I'm leaning toward any cichlids from Lake Tanganyika that would be comfortable in a 55g.
Currently I'm waiting to look over a couple books I ordered, before I decide exactly what species.
If anyone has any ideas, with pictures, that would be appreciated.

Cichlidfan I live NW Houston off of West Rd and 290, also sent you pm concerning purchasing a bag of the sand you have.

              Thanks for the welcome!

                  Welcome to the box Aculeus..

Tim has a good selection for you above.  I also like some of the sand dweller species out there..

Take a look at Neolamprologus most of them listed are from Lake Tanganyika.
Many of these will fit well in a 55g.
