Pray ??  I dont know what to tell you...  I wish I did though.. sorry about the jumping part...
I will think of your puffers..  Hopefully they will recover quick and nothing to it.
Every morning I have been looking at the ground around my tank where I had a fish get chased out of the tank..  and I still think about the fish that was dead on the floor..

      Re: HELP EMERGENCY 911

I would do a water change, add something to ward off fungus and pray.

Keep an eye on the wounds for evidence of fungus.  I never had to treat my puffers for anything, but Kordon makes a couple of organic products for ick and fungus that are sposed to be safe for all fish.  I've used it with loaches and they were't hurt by it, so I imagine a puffer would probably be ok too.

Good luck - and put a lid on that tank!  if there's a gap between overflow and lid, cut a piece of coarse sponge to fill it in, eliminate the "opening" to the pump side.

What about Melafix? Would that be safe for puffers? It's for treating wounds, and it sounds like that's the problem, besides the puffers being shaken up a bit.

I agree with Spot, too. How did they get in there? I didn't think there was a gap large enough in a Biocube, or any of the other all-in-one nanos, either.  :?

well i put some melafix in the water. that has been the absolute best i have ever used for any of my fish with wounds or hurt fins stuff like that.  plus it keeps from it gettin infected.
and about the opening.  im gonna make a wall to keep this from happening again.  dumbys, they followed each other into there.  i guess monkey see monkey do or i dont know what but im glad i was home.  I had just turned on there light about 30 prior, opened the lid and talked to them. well they talk to me. lol.  but i checked on them like always, they begged for food, and then i sat down on the couch.  just happend to look over there and noticed no water flow.  i was like what the hell, dam pump went out, then i was like where the heck are my fish,.  looked and looked, and then grabed a flashlight, looked into the return side of the sump and saw them.  i was likke dam how they do that.  but investigating theres a big gap between lid and that area.  so i gotta do something.

the baby is scratched up mainly.  but that hemoroid lookin thing looks crazy, not super big but looks like he blew out his buthole.  i dont think its a scratch and its his guts,  but im not sure.  i am almost positive that its his buthole though.

i just got up to check on his again and,......

some good news.  Stewie, the baby, well its been about an hour since i found him.  It was his butthole prolapsed.  it has went back in.  butt looks like he just got the jail house treatment lol, but not bad. the scratches arent deep, the just surface.  hes swimmin fine now and hes pissed off at me cause i have him in a clear pitcher to keep an eye on him.  but good news i think hes gonna be fine.  i put melafix in the water and im gonna build some sorta baracade to protect from this happening again. i just cant believe both of them got in there.  lol.  they are jumpers though, i knew that.  i was like Mzungu though, didnt think that gape was big enough for something to go through.  well found out different.

                Re: HELP EMERGENCY 911

Hobby lobby and other hobby stores carry this plastic screen looking material,  I forget what its called, they use it to weave in and out of and make designs.  It is usually by the knitting stuff.   It is easy to cut to any shape you need and can be held in place with hot glue.  It sounds like it would probably do the job.

It's cross stitching grids....wal-mart sells it too.

I wouldn't use melafix with puffers....just my opinion.

Well...I can't find anything that says Melafix is bad for puffers.  In fact, a lot of the puffer forums actually promote it's use because it's all natural.  Just don't use anything with copper in it on puffers.

yeah. only meds i like to use are alla naturel.  its great.  works wonders too. u can treat a fish that has had all its fins torn off, and in no time atall there back and lookin nice.   seen it a couple times with some lemon labs that fight occasionally.

it's called plastic canvas - walmart, hobby lobby, michaels all should have it.  walmarts will be white looking, the others usually have various colors (if you want to make it look less obtrusive.)
