Ricky --  Discus are fish that prefer slow moving fish as their companions -- I don't know how fast moving your fish are but Discus can handle many things but they don't like fast moving fish..   Discus Naturally like TON of hiding places like wood structures, high gowning plants, ie vegetation... take a look around and look at some of the pictures that GulfCoastDiscus has of his 215g tank and you will see what I am talking about.
There are some good experts on here...  talk to Walter he handles Discus too :)  they are beautiful fish and I love them :)

        Re: discus questions

        Hey Ricky,

I would not put any mollies (nor live bearers) as the molly from what I read carry some desease that may affect other fishes. Knowing that Discus are very sensitive and very expensive I would hate to take that chance.

          Re: discus questions

The Discus and the livebearers should be fine together. Just don't expect any livebearer babies. The discus will gobble them up.

As for the barbs, sometimes it's hit or miss. I've had tiger barbs live peacefully with the discus but i have also had some that tried to nip at their ventral fins. Just keep a close watch on them and watch for any fish (including the livebearers) for any "haircuts" they may be getting from the barbs.

I'm not too sure, but i think the temperature might be a little high for the livebearers.. but i'll leave a livebearer expert to comment on that.

As an added comment, i notice that your discus are still pretty small. As an ex discus person myself, i would have to advice against a planted tank for juvie discus until they reach their full size. Otherwise it may result in stunting of growth. Juvies need good water quality to grow to their full potential, which is easier to achieve with BB tanks and lots of water changes.... but that's just my opinion.
