  • Severums with Frontosa

I was in a LFS in Houston today and saw some beautiful Golden Severums, I have no experience with this species.
How would they do in a Burundi colony in a 180 gal tank
    Thanks for the advice

    Re: Severums with Frontosa

While I imagine they could coexist, keep in mind that fronts like alkaline water and severum like more neutral water. It all depends on how much you want to do it...

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

      Re: Severums with Frontosa

I had two pairs of Gold Sevrums long long time ago, when Aniken Skywalker was still racing pods on tatooween, they are a mild mannered species that can get along with just about every type of fish, but now there should be some concern given towards the ph level as Arm mentioned.  I raised mine with Oscars and there was no tribble at all.  :)

Very Hearty fish though.... and pretty too!

I posted in another post in this forum about keeping Fronts and Severums together.   Again like Arm said.. water and habitat is going to be your major concerns.  Fronts are deep divers and sleep at night in complete darkness..  Their habitat is open water with some rocky formation, where the Severum likes the amazon river style with plants and river style living.  You will have to choose which fish will be happy while the other just have to learn how to co-exist in their environment.
