  • Question about eclipse hoods

I'm getting a eclipse 3 hood for a 20 g long/29 g tank.  I was wondering if by some chance the filter that is part of the hood is broken, I could add an additional filter (pertaining to eclipse hoods, meaning can you add an existing filter to an eclipse hood?)  Is it possible to buy replacement parts (filter) for the eclipse?

    Re: Question about eclipse hoods

Do you mean a certain part of the filter, or do you mean gutting the whole thing, leaving just the lights, and starting over?

In case the filter doesnt work, is it possible to add another HOB to the back.  Is there a "hole" area where you can add your own things?

I have that hood, No to the hob but i put a canister in mine. You can get parts for the filter everywhere.I ended up not using the hood at all.

Well I ended getting the hood, and the filter works as well!  Im just wondering if the eclipse 3 hood is good enough for a 29 g.

I got a great deal on it, all this stuff for $15 bucks:

Eclipse 3 hood (everything works including 2 lights, clean condition)
          3 extra filter pads
          Heater
          2 air pumps
          2 breeder nets
A set of 4 aquarium chemicals
          2 thermometers
          Some other misc aquarium stuff
