  • German Blue Rams

I think I read recently someone was interested in German Blue Rams. Fish Gallery just received a new batch. They are rather calm and have good color...so they should be good for the pickin tomorrow.

I would give it a few more days for them to settle in.

Yeah, you want to give Rams a few days if not a week to settle in at a LFS.  They are notorious for health issues right off the bat.

Sensitivity IS there middle name...right about letting them acclimate i...its wise to let  a few days if not a week pass for acclimation for any new fish at a lfs....these arrived a few days ago at FG.

          Re: German Blue Rams

Went by FG today & seen the new rams. They only had 3 males in this order. So I had to get 2 of them with 2 females.
They have chased the Tetras out of their spot in the tank.
They seam to be doing fine now,but still have not seen them eat yet.

Got them to eat some blood worms a few minutes ago. So we will see how they do.

you know i dont think i have ever seen a really good shipment of badis come in, and i have never really had success wit hthem either. though i think they are really cool. i had some dario dario (scarlet badis was old name) do well for a while once, but never since.

I think the problem is the water.

loopy, you think you have never eaten bloodworms

hmmm...I'm not sure...unless it's another mystery ingredient in Peanut butter! If that's the case, then I guess I have, EK! LOL!

I was looking up those scarlet badis the other day and I read that the females are really colorless so they almost never get shipped overseas to breed... Just something I read...not really a part of the conversation, I guess...

                          Re: German Blue Rams

Well with the LFS's most people go to buy the pretty fish there are a lot of species that are shipped/bought that way.

But in FG's case most of the males have either been sold off or died off cause there is only a few males in the tank.
