  • My 2 tanks......learning slowly.

    Here are my two tanks

    8 gallon finnex tank
    2 HOB filters
    pressurized CO2 24hrs/day
    7wpg 8hours/day
ADA Green Brighty step 2 every 3 days

Whats wrong with my hairgrass?  I can get it to spread...thats not a problem but its not growing "green".

7 gallon long super random scape
    10wpg
    no ferts...no CO2

I basically threw a bunch of stuff in there randomly without much thought to scape.
    Plants include:
    random R. indica
    random java moss
    random hairgrass
    3 random blyxa japonica
super random fissidens tree on the right

My aquasoil looks funny.  It looks as though it is melted or something.  Whats the deal?  Other than that, this tank is pretty low maintenance.

How the tanks sit in my room with all the equipment

    ADA mini-m planted
    ADA mini-m riparium
    ADA 30-C nano reef
    ADA 90-P community Tanganyikan
ADA 120-p overflow Full reef in progress

      Looks good man!

I think you need the rest of the ferts for your hairgrass...Brighty K and Brightly lights.

The super long looks really good and I see that the fissiden log has become really nice looking with proper care.

I just did a simple little scape on a 30g long.....nothing pretty but then again not an eye sore.

          Wow, great looking tanks!!

What kind of lighting is on the 8g, or did it come as a setup?

very nice, love both, but the long is my favorite, what type of tank is the 7gal long?
            65 gallon - ADA 120p - planted
55 gallon - AGA standard - mix cichlid
            30 gallon tall - eclipse acrylic - semi-planted

I think that's the bookshelf tank they sell at petco or petsmart and the lighting is a coralife which is the way to go!

Blast it with lighting and alter the rest to keep up!

Wow, if that is the bookshelf tank, it looks wonderful! I have one but haven't messed around with it too much yet, because it's being used as a QT. Do you notice any bowing or anything like that without the top brace?

Thanks guys!  there is no bowing after I took off the brace.  well, it IS a bowfront though.  But, yeah, no excessive bowing.  As for the 8 gallon.  It came with a 24w pc fixture and I threw on 2 extra little 9"  18w coralife minis.  It helps give that extra little "umph".

I couldn't think of another word for "bowing." Oh well. I just noticed that on mine when the top brace is off it seems a little less sturdy. But hey, if it's not, that's great news!!
