Came home this evening to find one of my two Oscar's dead :( *cry*
The other one is not happy either now.. but I dont know if this is because it got the same disease or something else. Everyone else in the tank are happy.. the Pink convicts are about to mate again.
)Which fish have what symptoms: Just the Oscar's
)What medications have been tried: Pimafix (called Mike at Mike's Tropical and he recommended Pimafix)
)When they were introduced to the tank, did fish from where they came from have symptoms: These fish have all lived together for months
)Numbers, size, and types of fish in your tank: 58G with 2 (now 1) Oscar's 2x Green Terrors and 5 Adult Pink convicts plus about 15 fry and 2 common pleco's
)What, how much, and how often you feed: Tetra Cichlid Crisps
)How much water you change and how often: About every 2 weeks 30-40% change each time.
)When was the tank set up: April 07
)How many gallons: 58
)What's your water temperature: 78.5
)What's your ph:7.6 (tested tonight with master kit)
)What's your ammonia level: 0 (tested tonight with master kit) NO2 = 0, NO3 = 10,
)Hardness level: 150 - This has been the same for months - tap water only in that tank.
)Type(s) of filter(s): Eheim 2213 + Walmart Penguin 350 without the wheels.
)Anything else we should know: Oscars stop eating (they put food in their mouth and then spit it out) started Saturday (Same day as water change) (which worries me) They seemed happy Sat night, just didnt eat much of anything. Sun they didnt eat, Mon didnt eat - called Mike - he said PimaFix - Dosed the complete tank Tue with Pima fix - removed Carbon - Wednesday Evening home from work and Oscar dead in center of tank. Both Pleco's where attempting to eat the skin off the fish. (Didnt look like it had been dead long) Removed fish. All the other fish in the tank are healthy and eating like they are supposed to. The Male Pink Convict has decided since the second female ate her eggs Monday or Tuesday, he is now attempting to mate with Pink Convict Mamma the third, and she is very willing to clean the same stone which the two prior mates have used.
Tonight the Oscar seemed like it was looking for the now removed Oscar and running back and forth in the tank. Attempted to feed it but it ate some and then spit everything out.
