  • 10G ADA "style" tank

Finally had money to build a new tank.

With the help of screename we put together a different type of nano. I was looking to build a "meadow" typed tank.

This tank was set up last night in an hour or so

I created this tank by ripping off the black trim that it came with and used a brillo pad/razor to clean off the silicone left over.
The process took about 2 hours to fuly clean all the silicone off.

    ADA Bright Sand
    ADA Amazonia Aqua Soil
    AquaClear 20
    Coralife T-5 28watt (1 10,000k bulb and 1 True actinic 03 Blue bulb)

Plants and fauna will be added soon

    Really nice!

The color the light puts out is amazing! IMO the right side is too heavy feeling with that loner stone on the left. Either move some from the right to the left or ditch the left stone.

What are you plans for flora/fauna?

I know it will be a planted tank but...

I like it the way it is - without plants or anything!

Interesting idea with removing the trim. You are braver than I!

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Look for Val.Nana....would look much better in the smaller tank! Tell Screenname to get on APC or PT and bargain you some!

                    I like it!

                    BTW, bumblebee gobies are brackish...

I agree with ek...your vals will very quickly take over that tank! If you find any Val nanas, let us know.

                      Re: 10G ADA "style" tank

I found a lot of conflicting info about the bumble bees.....most of the info I found on them were that they are in fact freshwater fish that can tolerate low end brackish. But then again I see these things in saltwater tanks a lot too.

Yes I read that as well, I have kept some in freshwater and they did fine.

Woke upthis morning and they are flying around the tank lazily like the day before.

The water has cleared up and it look amazing with the light on..

gotta go take my leaners permit test.. otherwise i would upload pictures

Where did you happen to find the bumblebee gobies? I have been looking for some recently and have had no luck...
