Re: Need help to ID fish

I'm new to AC, and not an expert by any means, but I'll take a stab at this, I'm not sure of the first pic, but I think it's some kind of peacock, the second is an electric blue I believe, the third, I have no idea, the forth, is in my opinion, an Aratus, the fifth is possibly a koolie loach, and the last one is a blue lab I presume......how did I do ?
Truth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.

I think the third is a Red fin borleyi, they look similar. However, I am not an expert but would like to learn more. I bought these when I wanted cichlids but it was a small hobby. I have gotten more into it so I need to learn the different species.

I know the second one, just can't think of the name right now.  Last one looks like a Scolofi.

Re: Need help to ID fish

            Last one - Pseudotropheus socolofi?
            2nd - Melanochromis johanni?
Agree with CF on the fourth - M. auratus
Agree with Raul, some kind of OB zebra

Not too sure, but I think we all gave you a start!  :)

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Re: Need help to ID fish

3rd Pic is definitely a Red Fin Borleyi with a Convict behind him.  I bought a group of 5 that looked exactly like that when they were young.

Between Tim and Mike, I think they nailed all of them for you.

I thank you guys for the help. That was cool. I have one more to see if you all can name this one it looks similar to the Socolofi but is an yello/orange color. I am attaching the link to where I have a photo of it saved. Let me know what you think.

More than likely a Ruby Red...  Those few black spots and the color of it's dorsal, I could be mistaken though.

I'd say the other one's a female johanni.

Arm are those Labs? I know it is not a lab but has the black line down its fin like the lab or Socolofi, it is also more of an orange color. It was hard taking his/her pic always moved when it saw the focus light come on. Along with the zebra I got lucky with the zebra
