  • My first Houston Macrostoma Spawn!! yay!!

I'm still in the process of settling into my new place, so i didnt have the RO unit hooked up, so i used 100% tapwater with pH lowered using acid buffer.
Not only did it not kill them, it put them in the mood!!

I came home one day to this:
That's the female in the top left corner... can't find the male anywhere

Spawning is the easy part... now to see if he holds it for the next 3 weeks or so..

            Thanks!

It's a 20L. They used to live in an allglass 29 gal. But there's not enough space in my new place, so they have been downgraded to at 20L. They seem to be doing alrite in their smaller accomodations.

Re: My first Houston Macrostoma Spawn!! yay!!

Well.. just an update, the male ate all the eggs, but within a week, they are at it again and now he has held the eggs for about 3 weeks now. He should be releasing some fry in about a week.

But i have some bad news too (welll proabably bad for me ... good for everyone else) bacause of work related travel, i'm having to give them and my other fry from a previoius batch up.

I have them for sale in "The Fish Market".
