  • 10 gallon rosy barb tank

I have a 10 gallon tank with rosy barbs in it.  My water keeps turning yellowish.  I changed the water 2 days ago and its already yellow.  What gives??  Why is it doing this???

It would most probably be the tannin from the wood if u have any in there. What kind of substrate are u using?

What kind of filter are you running.
do you do any cleaning on the filter when you do changes?
how many rosy barbs do you have?
do you do any water testing? what are your levels?
        over feeding maybe?

i have a power head on the back that has bio sponge thing and the carbon filter insert.
I put new filter in on the cleanings.
          I have 7 rosy barbs.
I havent tested the water but I should i guess. problem is i dont know what im lookin for and whats a good level and all that.  plus i dont know what to do if something is high or low or whatever it is not good.  lol.
and no overfeeding.  they are always hungry and always eat every last ltittle bit of food.

A pinch of crisps could be a bit excessive for them.

If there is nothing else in the tank is artificial then I don't see what else it could be causing it other then the food or something in the filter. Maybe post a picture?

Maybe the light is reflecting off that orange plant and making the water look yellow?

Did you clean the gravel good? Maintenance routine?

yeah i was thinkin that too but when i do change the water and clean, the water is crystal clear for like 2 or 3 days before it gets yellow.

                              are the crisps mostly yellow?

I've seen those cloud the water before.
