  • Can anyone ID this plant.

I'm hoping one of the plant people here can identify this plant for me.  One of my friends found it at Huntsville State Park.  She said it was growing both emersed and submersed (spelling ?).  Before I put it in any of my tanks I'd like to know what it is.

Actually, I'm leaning more toward parrot's feather.

Looks like parrots feather to me.  I've got it growing in my pond, water gardens and in a couple of my fish tanks.

So, is that a picture of hers? Have you decided to try some of it out? Let us know how it does! And you've also made me very interested in going on a little plant collecting trip to Huntsville - would it be illegal to bring plants home?

Yes, it's a picture she took  and I don't exactly know where she collected it.  As to the legality of bringing it home I guess it would depend on where you were collecting plants.  I'll give it a try and see how it does.  From what I've seen on the net it looks pretty hardy.
