  • dwarf puffers

well after seeing them a few times i couldnt resist but to take home a trio of dwarf/pea puffers. i got one male and two females for my 20g planted tank since it has been empty for some time now cause everything i put in there took away from the tank but after seeing these puffers i think they are perfect for the tank!

when i brought them home i tested my planted tank to see how high the co2 was, since i didnt have any fish in there i didnt really care if it got a little high but to my suprise it was way too high for the puffers to go in. when i tested i had a little over 90 co2 content so they had to go into the 2.5g overnight but i turned down the juice and am now at a little below 30 so in they went.

the little guys are eating snails and bloodworms like no tomorrow!!!

i think im gonna get one more female later on in the week

i know from recent talk there are others with some so feel free to post your pictures!

                    Re: dwarf puffers

I'm going to be getting some of these guys tomorrow! I'm very excited and almost impulse-bought them today, but then my responsible side jumped in! I can't believe how very tiny they are!!! Probably a half inch at most...

yeah they are tiny, i held off for two weeks before i got mine and still had to put them in a holding tank.

i want to go back and get another female.

I know you'll enjoy them.  I got a green spotted puffer from Aquarium World for 7.99.  I only have one though.  He's the only guy in there right now.  BTW, how do you tell the sex of your puffers?
