BUT I'm having one heck of a time with the avatar too, this is what I keep getting????

If so, are you uploading from your machine or from a URL?

yeah I've tried both ways...and that's the page.

here is the pic that I would like but it says it's too big.

I have tries other's though, that would fit, and I keep getting that message.

download that to your computer and check the size. If it's small enough, upload from there.
