I don't know about you but I'd never get through a pound of KNO3. Well maybe in a year or so.
Would anyone want to split shipping and get a few pounds?

Shipping on 1 LB KNO3 and a LB Micro Nutrient Trace Mix = the cost of the ferts.
$10 for ferts, $10 shipping.

Sence alot more KNO3 gets dosed than micro we could each get a LB of KNO3 and split a LB of micro?

4lbs KNO3 and 1 LB micro = $27.64.... 27.64/4 = $6.91 a piece for a years worth of Ferts.

Add a pound of iron and phosphates and the total comes to $41 for about 10 bucks a piece

Nevermind looks too complicated to dose/mix.

Maybe if I get a bigger tank before you order then I will be in on it but right now the seachem stuff is lasting.

I found this site from an expert in aquarium plants

His suggestion is

"For a normal order I would suggest one lb KNO3 (if you need to dose nitrates), 2-3 lbs K2SO4, 4-6 ounces of KH2PO4 (if you need to dose phosphates), and 6-8 ounces of trace mix. And then you can go to here download a calculator that will let you figure out how much of these bulk chemicals to dose into your tank."

So I did the math and came up with
2 x CSM+B Plantex 1 lb                 $8.59          $17.18  
1 x Mono Potassium Phosphate 1 lb. $3.42  $3.42
8 x Potassium Sulfate 1 lb.                $2.17 $17.36
4 x Potassium Nitrate 1 lb.                $2.17 $8.68

the total is 60.59, split 4 ways its $15.

If anyone wants some measuring glasses or bottles lemme know.

Or I could buy a 2L bottle of flourish excel for 20 bucks plus shipping and have it last in my tank for 6 months.

Ok, so if we did that, at 15 per person, how long would it last vs the six months you get from flourish?

I know someone else who is interested in this if it would be cost effective.

Ohyeah, in all honesty, I don't think I need to dose nitrates, I'm thinking they get enough poop from the fish.. am I wrong?

My tank with high light and CO2 has no nitrates. So I need plenty.

I'm not quite following here......seachem flourish excel is just organic carbon supplement which is liquid dosable co2 and all of what you are ordering is everything else.
