  • Re-mineralizing RO/DI water...

Does anyone here have experience using something like "Instant Ocean" to re-mineralize RO/DI water for use in freshwater tanks?  I found an online reference explaining how a genetic research lab at the University of Oregon uses 60mg of "Instant Ocean" per liter of distilled water for their Danio Rerio breeding programs.  It seems that this would be much less expensive than using a product such as "R/O Right."  I'm not using RO right now.... just curious.

I do not use any additives in my ro water, my unit does 600 gallons per day and all i do is remix with filtered tap water at a 3parts ro to 1 part filtered tap water. works just fine for me.

      Re: Re-mineralizing RO/DI water...

I asked this same question awhile back, but I put it in the general freshwater forum. I got a lot of different advice. I just wanted to lower the pH a bit, so I used 1g RO to 3g conditioned tap. I only did that a couple times.

You should check out the other post. Max had the best advice.
