    Re: where to go?

You did not say what kind of central and south american fish you are looking for.
IMO the best price on tanks that I have found in town are at City Pets and Houston Aquatics. Several times a year Village Tropical has truck load/yard sales and when they do they have good prices on tanks.
Aqua Zoo can be a little difficult to see when you drive by it, but it really is there.
There are several breeders in the Houston area, depending on what you are looking for. You could make a post here telling what you want, also you could post on the Houston Aquarium Society Web site, I figure you can find almost anything you want in the Houston area.

        Re: where to go?

The best prices on fish tanks in town is Andy at Fishland.  So, far I have not ever found a price cheaper.

Aqua Zoo is just has a sign that says Tropical Fish or something like that on it.  The letters are blue and white.  They are located on Highway 3 and slightly north of the intersection at El Dorado.  They are in a strip center that looks like a storage facility.  Nice place, kinda crowded, but really good people in there.  I am sure they could help you with getting the fish you want, or pointed inthe right direction.

Take care, and welcome to Houston...

          Re: where to go?

your best bet for those kinda of fish are fish ranch. store/prices/help could be better but its prolly the best place for CA and SA. best to get your help from Mike the owner. Avoid that preppy white washed phillapino dude. theres a reason why his name is **** ahem, Richard.

              Re: where to go?

I do not have an address or number but if you're going 59 south, exit bellaire, make a U-ey and first immeadiate right onto Larkwood. Well, if you're going 59 south you cant miss it on the left any way after you pass up CarMax then Target.

Although those are good directions, some people like addresses(like me)! I thought I would include that as well.

                  Re: where to go?

And some of us get lost without a good map

'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
